In the Workshop with the Engineers
My older 3 brothers and my Dad were all engineers! I grew up in a world of building minibikes, model planes, cars, and rockets! My dad was the head of R&D at his company, and taught us all from a young age how to figure things out and put things together. This sparked an interest in design and innovation that has stayed with me.
A Passion for the Art and Science of Innovation
I have to credit Mom for exposing me to the arts and humanities, and this sparked my pursuits in creative writing and painting, which both enhanced my appreciation for the design and storytelling aspects of great innovations.
- I pursued liberal arts at Amherst College where I earned a BA in economics, but also studied psychology.
- I later focused on business at the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College where I gained an MBA in general management.
A Career in Innovation & Brand building
- Success growing national and global brands at Campbell’s, NestlĂ©, and in the art materials industry
- 10 years at the director level, managing a range of teams and agencies, and developing direct reports
- Dedicated roles in brand management, innovation and channel management so I can connect the dots
- Success bringing CPG best practices to newly acquired brands and a diversity of businesses
What sets me apart from other innovation leaders is my ability to tease out the deep human truths that drive behavior, and then drive execution with a hands-on approach to cross-functional leadership.
